Mastering Nightingale's Abeyance Realm: A Guide to Unlocking the Astrolabe and Provisioner Cards
In the immersive world of Nightingale, players are tasked with completing challenges at Sites of Power, exploring new realms, and acquiring high-end items and blueprints. Early in the game, players may face obstacles owing to specific objectives that are crucial for progression. This article provides a detailed walkthrough on acquiring the Astrolabe and Provisioner Cards in Nightingale.
To obtain the Astrolabe and Provisioner Cards, players must defeat the bosses located in their respective Sites of Power. After completing the trials in the initial Antiquarian Realm, the player’s objective shifts towards acquiring the Astrolabe Card. Both necessary Sites of Power are found within the Abeyance Realm, the player's home realm where the Estate Cairn is situated. These sites are guarded by energy barriers that can only be bypassed by increasing the player's gear score to the required level. Taking along an NPC recruit is advisable, especially for those playing solo, as these mini-dungeons involve challenging boss battles.
The location of the Astrolabe Site of Power might vary due to procedural generation; in our case, it was situated in the southeast corner of the Abeyance Realm. Upon entering, we engaged in battles with Bound enemies, including troublesome Lamplighters. Following the sloping path downwards, we reached the inner chamber where interaction with a crystal device summoned the Fabled Automaton Bishop.
The Bishop exhibits several formidable abilities: it summons small robotic minions, causes explosive crystal fragments to materialize, and fires up to six consecutive laser beams. Our strategy involved staying close to the sloping path to eliminate the robot minions while allowing our NPC companion to inflict most of the damage. If our follower was incapacitated, we waited for a pause between laser shots to revive them. Defeating the Fabled Automaton Bishop awarded us the Astrolabe Card.
Following the acquisition of the Astrolabe Card, the next challenge was to obtain the Provisioner Card. The Provisioner Site of Power, also within the Abeyance Realm, was found in the northwestern section. Unlike the previous site, this one resembled an underground mine with a network of tunnels. In addition to battling various enemies such as Bound Knights and Bound Kyrosiphons, we navigated to the mine's bottommost section where an inner chamber housed the machinery and summoned the Fabled Automaton Knight.
The Fabled Automaton Knight's primary ability is a forward slash that causes a burning status effect. We allowed our NPC follower to manage the battle, utilizing the tunnel system to evade the boss and revive our companion whenever necessary. Upon defeating the Fabled Automaton Knight, we secured the Provisioner Card.
With both quests completed, players can progress to the next realm and soon acquire the capability to craft firearms.
