Miyazaki Open to Evolution of Seamless Co-Op in Future Soulsborne Titles
Miyazaki is open to using Elden Ring's seamless co-op mod. In Elden Ring, the standard cooperative play has limitations. The inability to explore freely with friends in the base game can be exasperating, making the availability of a mod to enhance this experience quite beneficial.
During an interview with PC Gamer, Hidetaka Miyazaki mentioned that the mod is not something the development team at FromSoftware opposes. He explained that the team wanted a more relaxed and casual experience in Elden Ring, where players could drop in, defeat a boss, and then drop out. This approach doesn't impose any technical restrictions on the player, allowing them to complete specific tasks and move on.
This concept might influence future developments toward more seamless cooperative play. Miyazaki hinted at the possibility of incorporating full-game cooperative functionalities in future projects. He suggested that they may explore ways to allow players to experience entire games together from start to finish.
What are your thoughts on enhancing cooperative functionality in future Soulsborne titles?
