Game Subscription Service Reaches New Heights with Unprecedented Investment and Dynamic Partnerships
This year has emerged as a pivotal milestone period for the game subscription service with substantial new partnerships and investments enhancing the experience for subscribers. Recent developments have reinforced the value of the service, underlined by significant engagements with numerous industry partners.
A leading executive from the ID@Xbox program detailed in a recent interview that the service received its most considerable investment ever this year. Many partners who had previously provided titles are now keen to offer their upcoming releases on the platform. In total, agreements have been secured with over 150 partners, and there are ongoing discussions with hundreds more about future projects.
New additions scheduled for day one in 2025 include:
- Avowed
- Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
- Doom: The Dark Ages
- The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered
- Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 and 4: The Remastered Editions
- Wuchang: Fallen Feathers
- Hollow Knight: Silksong
The executive also mentioned that last year, over 50 teams entered into their first deal for the service. This year sees the service attracting the largest level of investment to date, with the aim of providing the most diverse and exciting gaming catalog available.
It is noteworthy that the focus here remains on third-party collaborations, even as first-party offerings continue to be strong. The evolving service provides much to ponder about what subscribers can expect as the year progresses.
