Acer Unveils Nitro Blaze Handheld Gaming PCs to Compete in the Portable Gaming Market at CES 2025
Acer has announced exciting updates to its lineup of handheld gaming PCs, revealing two new Nitro Blaze models during CES 2025. These innovative devices are aimed at making a mark in the competitive gaming market, taking on well-known brands including devices like the Steam Deck, Asus ROG Ally, and Lenovo Legion Go, and MSI Claw. The new Nitro Blaze models boast enhanced performance, equipped with the latest technology from AMD.
The two newly unveiled models are the Nitro Blaze 8 and the Nitro Blaze 11. While the naming may seem unconventional, it reflects their display sizes, measuring 8.8" and 10.95", respectively. Both models feature impressive 144Hz WQXGA touchscreens, providing a vibrant visual experience.
In terms of inner components, both handheld devices are nearly identical, housing AMD Ryzen 7 8840HS processors and 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM. Users can take advantage of up to 2TB of storage, alongside AMD Radeon 780M GPUs that support Radeon Super Resolution and AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution. Windows 11 is already included upon installation, guaranteeing a seamless and modern user experience.
Audio clarity is improved through compatibility with DTS:X Ultra Audio, and players can enjoy responsive gameplay thanks to Hall Effect triggers and sticks. Additional features include a built-in kickstand, a front-facing camera, various Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity options, and multiple ports for seamless connections with USB 4 and USB 3.2.
The pricing for these devices starts at $899/€999 for the Nitro Blaze 8 and $1,099/€1,199 for the Nitro Blaze 11, with availability expected in Q2. In addition to the Nitro Blaze models, Acer is preparing to introduce a Nitro Mobile Gaming Controller, which offers a plug-and-play experience for mobile devices up to 8.3". This controller features a USB-C connection, rubber grips for enhanced comfort, and 18W passthrough fast-charging, all offered at $69.99/€89.99, also set for release in Q2.
